A warm welcome to Cromwell Park Primary School.

Cromwell Park Primary School was opened for the first time in September 2002.  Our building provides 21st Century educational provision for all our children, with many ground breaking new technologies incorporated into the building, from state of the art computer facilities, to rainwater recycling and the use of solar energy.

The building however is only one part of the story.  A school is not a school without the people who work in it – the staff, the governors, the parents, and most importantly, the children.

We aim achievement in all our children, whatever their talents.

We also strive to be a school working within and for our local community.  Our community room is already a thoroughly utilised facility, providing for such amenities as Muntjacs, our before and after school Kids Club, and our Pre-School.

Fundamental to the learning of any child is the relationship between home and school.  I hope that our working together at Cromwell Park will lead to genuine success and achievement for your child.  Our school offers a great adventure for all, an exciting opportunity to follow an educational journey that will help develop the potential of each and every one of our children.

The Governing Body’s Welcome

As a Governing Body we would like to extend the Headteacher’s warm welcome to you and hope that this website leaves you with an insight into school life and provides an overview of our school’s aims and the way it is organised.

We are very lucky at Cromwell Park to have a large green field site within the centre of Hinchingbrooke, which is easily accessible to the community and which provides many opportunities for learning out of doors.

Cromwell Park has a strong and dedicated team of teaching and support staff, and a number of willing volunteers who help out when they can. Together we all work towards the shared goal of ensuring that all children work to the very best of their ability to achieve success.

Our school provides a broad and enriched curriculum with a safe, secure and stimulating learning environment; further supported by a vibrant and enjoyable range of extra-curricular activities of which we are very proud.

As governors, we share a strong belief that partnership between the school staff, governors, parents/carers and children is the best way to achieve our aims and to provide the best possible education for your child - and we look forward to working with you to achieve our aims.

It is impossible to encapsulate life at Cromwell Park in just words, so we hope that you will visit our school and see for yourselves, just what a fantastic environment it is for your child to grow and learn.

We look forward to meeting you at one of the many school events in the future.

    • School Closure: Industrial Action 30 November 2011

As you will probably have seen in the press, some of the public sector trade unions intend to take strike action on Wednesday 30 November 2011. This is part of a national dispute over proposals to change public sector pension schemes, which the unions believe will have a negative impact on their members.

Obviously, we all hope that the dispute can be resolved through national negotiation but at the moment it seems likely that there will be some form of strike action on 30 November 2011.  Members of the school management team have therefore been considering what impact the strike will have on our setting and, after reviewing all the possible options, we have decided that the school will be closed to all children on 30 November 2011. Please do not send your child/children to school that day, as there will be no provision to look after them.

As I began by saying, we all hope that the dispute will be resolved by negotiation at national level as early as possible. I can confirm that school will be operating again as normal on Thursday 1 December 2011 and to the best of my knowledge, there is no further industrial action planned this term.

I hope this information is helpful but if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

      Yours sincerely
