Ofsted Inspection of Cromwell Park Primary School, 14 – 15 March, 2013

‘There is a positive climate for learning in lessons and good relationships between adults and pupils.’

‘Pupils behaviour is good in lessons and as they move around the school. They are keen to talk about their work and are proud of their achievements.’

Following our recent Ofsted inspection we are now able to share the report with you.  The Ofsted team recognised the journey we have been on since we were last inspected and graded us as ‘Good’ in all areas: The achievement of pupils, the quality of teaching, the behaviour and safety of pupils, and the leadership and management.

Our two main target areas for improvement are to further extend our children’s writing and mathematical skills and to increase the proportion of outstanding teaching throughout the school.  We feel these targets are a fair reflection of where we are as a school and we now look forward to continuing our journey.

The report paints a positive picture which truly reflects the hard work and commitment of our whole school community during our journey since 2010. It also confirms our current position and required direction of travel which will make us an ‘Outstanding’ school and ‘be the best we can be!’

We would like to thank the Staff and Governors for their continued commitment and dedication to the school over the past years and to thank you, as Parents and Carers, for your support and encouragement during this time.

The Big Pedal  
The Big Pedal is a nationwide competition with over one thousand schools taking part. The aim is to get as many children and parents biking to and from school over a 3 week period as possible. Every day the bikes and scooters will be counted and logged on the Big Pedal website by Adam Baldwin.

At the end of the 3 weeks the winning school will win some fabulous prizes. The scores are worked out on a percentage so we can compete with larger sized schools.
